The Planning Committee received more than 160 well-written and carefully thought-out responses to the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis from you, the members of Pine Mountain Club. The committee condensed your suggested solutions into 135 “plans.” For this purpose, our definition of a “plan” is a course of action you think the Association should take to move our community forward and make it a better place to live. Many of the plans you submitted were suggested more than once, which meant to the committee that these were ideas the community cared about deeply. Some ideas stood in opposition to each other. All were creative and offered concrete recommendations to the Association as it plans its course of action for the next five years.
Now, we need to prioritize the plans you submitted. The above link will take you these 135 plans categorized by the area of the Association they affect. In the October 2010 issue of "The Condor," a ballot was inserted along with these plans that asked you to list by number the plans you would like to see carried out.
The committee is compiling the results and the top 50 plans overall will become the basis for Pine Mountain Club’s new Strategic Plan. It will be a plan you, the members, created. It will help carry out the mission statement that was created by the members six years ago, which states, “The Pine Mountain Club Property Owners Association will provide high-quality services to its members and continually improve its organizational operations and capital assets while maintaining fiscal responsibility. It will protect the intimacy and mutual respect of the community’s small-village atmosphere and practice sound stewardship in conserving the surrounding natural environmental resources.”
The committee will work with the Board and the General Manager to turn each of the chosen plans into an action plan that has a date by which it will be completed, a person or department who will be responsible to carry it out, and a measurement by which we will all know if it has been successful and by how much. The priority for each action plan will be influenced by the results of the recent survey (and those results have been published in the last two issues of the Condor). This process is an interesting one, and we will be reporting to you on the progress as it unfolds.
Once all the plans have become action plans, the new Strategic Plan will be published on the PMCPOA website, along with periodic reports about the progress being made. This accountability is part of the Planning Committee’s commitment to transparency and improved effectiveness for our Association.
