Here's What's Going On:
Father's Day Dinner
The Clubhouse presents a special day for dads and others on Sunday, June 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. A special dinner menu will be offered, with tri tip, baby pork rib and grilled chicken breast meals available for purchase. The tri tip and rib meals are $15.95 each, and the chicken dinner is $12.95. All dinners come with corn on the cobb, macaroni salad, cole slaw, tossed green salad, iced tea or lemondate and hot cherry or peach cobbler for dessert. The Sunday Jam will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Lounge.
Trivia Night Returning
The popular Trivia Night will take place every Thursday in June at 6 p.m. in the Condor Lounge. The evenings will be hosted by Mark Bailey, and food will be available for purchase. Don’t miss out!
Concerts on the Greens Continue
Concerts on the Greens continue this month on June 15 with Dawson’s Gang, July 13 with Box Car 7, July 27 with City Beat and Aug. 17 with Rock of Ages. All concerts are from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the Greens. Food is available for purchase, and kids’ activities are offered. Please no outside food or beverage.
Summer Camps/Swim Lessons Beginning
The PMCPOA Summer Camp and Swim Lesson programs begin this month and run throughout the summer. A variety of swim lesson session are offered, along with a slate of camps ranging from Soccer, Basketball and Bat-n-Ball to Golf, Dance and Junior Lifeguard programs. Flyers are available in the Clubhouse Lobby with complete scheduling information. Sign up in the Business Office and join the fun!
Want to Have a Voice on Pool Usage? Here’s How
PMCPOA has formed a pool subcommittee for the purpose of advising the Board of Directors on issues and matters regarding the pools, including new and innovative ways to enhance usage of them. The committee meets at 5 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the Clubhouse. To join the committee, please visit the Business Office and submit an application, or call 242-3788.
Wine in the Pines Promises Fine Wine, Food and Fun
The annual Pine Mountain Club Wine in the Pines will take place in PMC’s Village Center on Saturday, June 8 from Noon to 4 p.m. In addition to tasting fine wines from California’s fabled Central Coast, some of Kern County’s favorite restaurants will be on hand. You must be 21 or older to purchase tickets. Admission to the festival is $45 in advance and $60 at the door and includes wine and beer tasting from noon to 4 p.m., a logo glass and fabulous food. Community Picnics in Park Resuming
The Thursday “Picnics in the Park” at Lampkin Park resume June 6 and continue until the weather turns cold. Picnics start at 5:00 p.m. Bring a meat to cook, dish to share and your own table service. Come out and enjoy the great food and visiting with your friends and neighbors.
Come Party Down at the Dog Park
Come join in the fun at a party in the PMC Dog Park (just follow Arctic up to the campground) on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. Hot dogs and beverages will be served. The Dog Park welcomes club members, dogs and owners new to the park, and even people without dogs. It is open daily from dawn to dusk, weather permitting. Membership applications for the Dog Park Club are available in the lobby of the Clubhouse. There is a $25 membership fee to cover the cost of poop bags and other supplies, a safety telephone and for general maintenance. For further information, call 242-8529.
Town Hall Gathering Features Medicine Women
This month’s Town Hall Gathering takes place Friday, June 14, at 7 p.m. in the Clubhouse and features a family-friendly evening of native legend and lore. Two medicine women, Chris Faulconer and Sarah-Jane (SunJay) Owen, will share how their healing practices have been influenced by these traditions, including a drumming journey. Mindy Moffatt will share history of our area as well as myths and stories, and interactive music and drumming will be featured. Town Hall is moderated by Frances and A.J. Durocher.
Special Town Hall to Host Supervisor David Couch
PMCPOA is going to Host a Special Town Hall gathering on Wednesday, June 19 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Condor Room. The presenter/guest will be Supervisor David Couch from the 4th District. The topic of discussion and fact finding will be the Mountain Communities Municipal Advisory Council (MCMAC). This meeting is open and free of charge to public. The purpose of this Town Hall is to gain input from members of the Mountain Communities on the merits of establishing a Mountain Community Municipal Advisory Council (MCMAC).
Fall Festival Is Coming!
Come join the fun and celebrate our community in this joint effort of PMCPOA, the Commercial Center POA and the Village Merchants! Fall Festival is Saturday - Sunday, Aug. 31 & Sept. 1 2013 in the Commercial Center. The event features entertainment/live bands, beer and wine, vendors, a parade, nail driving and log sawing contests, kids’ attractions and much more. Individual sponsorship packages to help support the Fall Festival are now available in the Business Office. Volunteers are also greatly needed. If you are interested in being a volunteer for this year’s Fall Festival, please contact the Office.
Splish Splash! Summer is Time for Water Aerobics!
PMCPOA’s very popular Water Aerobics classes have begun! The season runs through Saturday, August 31, and includes classes six days a week. On weekdays, classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. On weeknights, classes take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday classes meet from 9-10 a.m. All classes are taught by Certified Water Instructors and are subject to a minimum number of participants. The fees are as follows: Day Pass: $6.00/Season Pass: $125.00/Monthly Pass: $ 50.00. Fee packages that combine Water Aerobics with indoor fitness classes are also available. Indoor Fitness Program Continuing
PMCPOA’s indoor fitness program features Tai Chi classes that meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Zumba® classes that meet from 8:15-9:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Gentle Stretch and PMC Yoga and Pilates classes that meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. For details about pricing, please contact the Business Office.
Bistro Has New Menu, and Pizza!
The Bistro now serves pizza on Thursday nights in the Lounge, and on Sunday, a special offers two 8-inch pizzas, a salad and a non-alcoholic beverage for 15.00 (tax and gratuity not included). The Bistro also has a new menu! Come enjoy the new offerings.

Calling All Beginning Golfers
Through August, on the first Saturday of each month, the Golf Shop will hold free adult and junior basic swing clinics. Adult clinics are at 2 p.m., and junior clinics are at 3 p.m. Clubs are available for those who do not have their own. For novice and more experienced golfers, Golf Shop Manager Jim English is available Wednesdays through Saturdays to help with swings, short games and specialty shots, also at no charge.

Save the Date!
July 27 is Eventful Day at PMC Clubhouse
Saturday, July 27 is a day you won’t want to be off the mountain. A full slate of events and activities is taking place in PMC on that day. Here is a rundown of what’s happening:
* A Junior Golf Fundraiser at 10 a.m. followed by a lunch.
* A roundtable discussion with a number of Kern County elected officials from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Clubhouse. There will also be an interactive exhibit and guest speakers in the Pool Pavilion providing the history of Pine Mountain Club.
* A picnic for all members (with hot dogs and hamburgers) on the golf course driving range from 1-4 p.m. Music for this event will be provided by Bandit.
* Following the members’ picnic, a Concert on the Greens will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with music by City Beat.
* Entertainment in the Condor Room will be provided by Boys Night Out from 7:30-11:30 p.m.
Community Yard Sale
The annual Community Yard Sale will take place Saturday, July 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Lampkin Park basketball court. Stay tuned for further details!
Tenant/Lessee/Guest Membership Cards Required in Clubhouse
Notice to Members/Tenants/Lessees: Membership cards are required to receive services at all Clubhouse facilities. The Association uses the swipe card system to track member versus non-member revenue. Tenants/lessees/guests need to be registered with the clubhouse by the property owner for guest cards. Cards can be ordered by the property owner through the Business Office and are free with submission of previous membership cards. If you do not have your previous cards, there is a $2 fee. For questions or to pick up the tenant/lessee/guest forms, please call the office at 242-3788.
